Volleyball: Panthers fall to Talladega in road match

TALLADEGA, Ala. - Freshman Sterling Ancrum had a team-high eight kills as LaGrange took on Talladega in a non-conference match Thursday. The Tornadoes topped the Panthers (5-5) 3-1 in the match.

Ancrum had a .400 attack percentage in the match and added nine digs. Sophomore Ella Weymiller led the team with 16 digs.

Senior Hayley LaFontaine and freshman Katie Chancellor each had five kills. Talladega's Sarina Thompson had a match-high 17 kills.

The Tornadoes took the first two sets 25-20 and 25-21. The Panthers came back with a 25-17 win in the fourth set before Talladega took the fourth set 25-12 for the 3-1 final.

The Panthers host Birmingham-Southern on Friday at 6 p.m. in the CEB Gym.
