Volleyball: Agnes Scott stops Panthers

DECATUR, Ga. - Agnes Scott stopped LaGrange 3-0 on Wednesday at the Woodruff Gymnasium. The loss dropped the Panthers to 0-5, while the Scotties improved to 2-0.

Agnes Scott took the match by scores of 25-16, 25-17 and 25-20. The Panthers' only lead in the match came early in the third set.

Leslie Rhoades and Hayley LaFontaine led the Panthers with six kills each. Rhoades had a match-best .357 attack percentage and two solo blocks. Destinee Briskey had a match-high 21 digs, while Erin McKinstry had 17 assists.

Morgan Bender led Agnes Scott with a match-high 14 kills. Claire Brummeler added a match-high 26 assists.

The Panthers host Covenant and Huntingdon in  a tri-match Saturday in the Callaway Educational Building Gym. The Panthers play Huntingdon at 11 a.m., then Covenant at 5 p.m.
