Panthers lose four matches at Emory Halloween Tournament

The Panthers fell to Randolph-Macon and third-ranked Emory by 3-0 scores on Friday. Randolph-Macon took the match from the Panthers by set scores of 25-10, 25-10 and 25-22. Emory swept the Panthers by scores of 25-12, 25-15 and 25-8.

On Saturday, the Panthers were swept by Birmingham-Southern and Berry by 3-0 scores. Birmingham-Southern beat the Panthers 25-13, 25-14 and 25-9. The Panthers lost to Berry 25-9, 25-15 and 25-22.

Erin Hazelrig led the Panthers with 12 kills in the tournament and added 23 digs. Kayla Black had nine kills, 44 assists and 17 digs in the tournament.  Black recorded her 2,000th career assist during the tournament. Shanice Cunningham had eight kills and eight total blocks, while Crystal Colvin had 42 digs.

The Panthers host Agnes Scott and Wesleyan on Sunday in GSAC matches beginning at 1 p.m. in the CEB Gym.
