Panthers drop matches to Brenau and Trinity

Brenau took the Panthers by scores of 25-12, 25-8 and 25-20. Trinity rallied to take the final two sets and won the match by 25-16, 26-28, 24-26, 25-16 and 15-12.

In the loss to Trinity, senior Sarah Newland led the Panthers with a career-high 15 kills and completed the double-double with 13 digs. Newland also had a career-high 60 attack attempts.

Two other Panthers had double figures in kills. Anna Byars and Hannah Brooks each had 11 kills. Byars had a block solo and five block assists. Brooks added three block solos and assists each.

Kayla Black came within an assist of matching her career high. Black finished the match with 38 assists. Colvin Crystal led the Panthers with 22 digs.

In the Brenau match, Newland led the Panthers with eight kills. Black had 18 assists and Kristen Barton had a team-high nine digs.

The Panthers are on the road Tuesday at Agnes Scott in a GSAC match.
