Tennis: Panther women receive third straight ITA All-Academic Team award

The LaGrange women's tennis team earned its third straight Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team award. The Panthers had a record four starters named ITA Scholar-Athletes. Delaney James, Macy Milford, Laura Schexnayder, and Kaitlin Smith earned the honor.

The Panther women posted a cumulative grade point average of 3.344 for the 2014-15 academic year. The Panthers were one of only two USA South Athletic Conference teams garnering ITA All-Academic Team status.

On the men's side, Wade Fegley and Zach Justice were ITA Scholar-Athletes for the Panthers. The pair were the only individuals from the conference to achieve the award.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year (including fall 2013 and spring 2014).

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman through senior year).
