Tennis: Women named as 2013 ITA All-Academic Team

The LaGrange College women's tennis team was named as a 2013 All-Academic team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). The Panthers were one of 79 women's teams in NCAA Division III and the only representative from the USA South conference.

To qualify, a team must have a 3.20 team cumulative grade point average or above (on a 4.00 scale). The women had a team 3.40 GPA for the 2012-13 academic year.

In addition, three women and two men earned ITA Scholar Athlete recognition. For the women: Blake Alford, Caroline Brashier and Kelsey Ellison. For the men: Alex Glass and Stevie Harrison. To attain ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman thorough senior year).
