Fred Wagenaar will be starting his second season as the Panthers' head women's soccer coach in 2015.

Wagenaar was the head coach for nine years at Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, where he amassed an overall record of 139-27-19.
 
A member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, Graceland won nine Heart of America Athletic Conference championships during Wagenaar's nine years of leadership. The Yellow Jackets appeared in the NAIA national tournament seven times and ranked nationally in the Top 25 eight times.
 
He has coached nine All-Americans, 51 All-American Scholar Athletes and 54 All-Conference players at Graceland. He was the conference Coach of the Year six times. Included in the players he coached Stefany Castano, who is a goalkeeper for her native Columbia and playing in the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup.
 
Graceland was the No. 1 NAIA women's soccer program in the nation for recognized scholar-athletes in 2012. The women's soccer team received the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award in 2010 and 2011.
 
Wagenaar came to Graceland in 2004 as the men's and women's soccer goalkeeper coach. During the 2004 season, the women's goalkeeper earned All-Conference honors, while the men's goalkeeper was the NAIA National Tournament Most Valuable Player in leading Graceland to the national championship.
Wagenaar holds a NSCAA National Goalkeeping diploma. He is a certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise and supervised the women's soccer program's off-season fitness and weight training.

Wagenaar studied level one and two coaching theory at Mohawk (Canada) College, then level one and two practical levels at Richmond Hill and Brock (Canada) University. He holds a bachelor's degree in education from Graceland, graduating summa cum laude.

He and his wife, Kathy, are the parents of four sons: Mark, Jesse, Ben and Josh.
