Women's Soccer: Panthers pull away to blank Mary Baldwin 5-0 in USA South match

STAUNTON, Va. - LaGrange pulled away in the second half to blank Mary Baldwin 5-0 in a USA South match Saturday. The Panthers upped their conference record to 2-1 and overall record to 3-6.

The Panthers led 1-0 on Taylor Poole's goal in the 35th minute. Tori Cutlip got her team-leading fourth assist on the score. Cutlip is tied for third in the conference statistics for assists.

In the second half, the Panthers broke the game open. Rachel Jenkins scored off an assist from Rebecca Sanders less than three minutes into the half to make it 2-0.

The Panthers needed just 50 seconds to add two more goals. Cutlip scored her second of the season with an assist from Jenkins, who then added her second goal of the match. Ashley Jacobson assisted on Jenkins' goal.

Poole closed out the scoring in the final minute with an unassisted goal for the 5-0 final. The Panthers out shot Mary Baldwin 25-1 in the match. Carly Farrow got the win in goal for the Panthers.

The Panthers play Meredith in Raleigh, N.C. on Sunday in another USA South match.
