Women's Soccer: Panthers, Toccoa Falls face off in non-conference tilt

LaGrange and Toccoa Falls faced off in a non-conference match Wednesday at Panther Field. The visiting Eagles came away with a 2-1 win over the Panthers.

The Panthers got their goal 10 minutes into the match. Junior Sydney Aronson headed in the ball off a well-placed corner kick from Tori Cutlip for a 1-0 lead.

Toccoa Falls (4-5) tied it up in the closing minutes of the first half. The Eagles got the go-ahead goal nine minutes into the second half.

The Panthers (2-6) had scoring chances in the second half. Andrea Richards was turned away on a shot in front of the goal. In the 77th minute, Cutlip and Aronson hooked up once again for what appeared to be the game-tying goal, but a foul on the play took the goal off the board.

The Panthers are on the road Saturday at Mary Baldwin and Sunday at Meredith in USA South matches.
