2014-15 in Review: Wagenaar makes successful debut in Panthers' 3-0 win over Judson

The LaGrange women's soccer team kicked off the 2014 season with a 3-0 win over visiting Judson (Ala.) on Friday, Aug. 29. It was also a successful debut for new head coach Fred Wagenaar.

Junior Andrea Richard scored twice, while sophomore Sydney Aronson had a goal. The Panthers dominated the game, finishing with a 23-2 shot advantage, including a 11-2 shot on goal edge.

Senior Courtney Slauson and sophomore Carly Farrow combined in goal for the shutout. Slauson started the game before giving way to Farrow in the 71st minute.

Aronson recorded the first goal of the season 13 minutes into the game. Freshman Ashley Jacobson assisted on the goal.

Six minutes later, Richard got her first score of the game. She forced a turnover and beat Eagle keeper Shana DuPree for the goal. The Panthers took the 2-0 lead into halftime.

The Panthers continued to press their attack in the second half. Jacobson had a ball go off the cross bar in the 74th minute and five minutes later had another shot turned away.

Richard closed out the scoring in the closing minutes. She beat a defender and sent a shot into the back of the net for the 3-0 final.
