Women's Soccer: Piedmont holds off Panthers 2-1 in USA South contest

LaGrange battled defending USA South champion Piedmont to the wire Wednesday before falling 2-1.

The Panthers (5-6, 2-3 USA South) fell behind 2-0 in the second half. Piedmont (6-3-1, 3-1-1 USA South) lead 1-0 at the half and added an insurance goal 10 minutes into the second half.

The Panthers cut the deficit to a single goal in the 68th minute. Sydney Dorsey broke free and put the ball in the back of the net for her first goal of the season. 

But the Lady Lions were able to preserve the lead for the win.

Courtney Slauson had 12 saves in goal for the Panthers.

The Panthers play at Covenant on Saturday in a USA South game.
