Women's Soccer: Oglethorpe edges Panthers 1-0 with second half goal

Visiting Oglethorpe took a hard-fought 1-0 win over LaGrange on Tuesday in a non-conference match up.

The loss left the Panthers 3-2, while Oglethorpe improved to 3-2. The Panthers open USA South play Saturday and Sunday when they host Mary Baldwin and Meredith.

The lone goal came in the second half in the 70th minute. Claire Stauber scored for the Stormy Petrels with her third goal of the year.

The Panthers put pressure on the Stormy Petrels in the final minutes. The Panthers had four of their six shots in the game in the final 10 minutes but were turned away.

Senior Courtney Slauson had six saves in goal for the Panthers. She faced 17 shots, with seven on goal.
