Women's Soccer: Panthers clip Toccoa Falls in overtime

Sydney Dorsey scored less than three minutes into overtime, as LaGrange clipped Toccoa Falls 2-1 on Saturday at Panther Field. The win was the third straight for the Panthers, now 4-2.

The two teams played to a scoreless half. The Panthers got the first goal in the 70th minute. Andrea Richard's shot went through the hands of goalkeeper Rebecca Heath for a 1-0 lead.

The Eagles got the equalizer 11 minutes later. Nicole Cooprider scored off an assist from Lauren Howell to tie the match. Cooprider's shot was the Eagles' only shot on goal in the match.

The Panthers came out attacking in the overtime period. Michaela Osborne sent a through ball to Dorsey, who beat Heath with a shot to the far post for the game-winner. The goal was Dorsey's team-leading sixth of the season.

The Panthers are on the road next Saturday and Sunday at Mary Baldwin and Meredith.
