Women's Soccer: Robbins named to United States Soccer National Staff

LaGrange College women's soccer coach Jim Robbins has been named to the United States Soccer National Girls coaching staff.

Robbins will be working as a staff coach with U.S. Soccer's National Trainer Centers in the Southeast Region.  In this position, he assists in player identification and development for the 1996-2000 age groups and makes recommendations for player advancement to U.S. Girls National Camps in each of the respective age groups.

Robbins recently completed his fourth and final year as head coach of the Georgia 97 Girls Olympic Development Program team last month at the conclusion of the team's region camp at Montevallo (Ala.) University. 

During Robbins' four years as head coach, the GA 97G ODP Team was regarded as the top team in Region III in the 97 age group.  Under his tutelage, 15 different players have been selected to the Region III pool and seven different players, to date, have been selected to the represent the age group in the U.S. Girls National Pool. 

Robbins is entering his fifth season as head coach of the Panthers. The Panthers open their season Aug. 30 at Judson (Ala.) College. The Panthers are beginning their second season in the USA South conference after setting a school record for wins last season.
