Women's Soccer: Panthers down Spelman 2-0

LaGrange broke a two-game losing skid with a 2-0 non-conference win over Spelman on Wednesday at Panther Field. The Panthers improved to 8-5 with the win. The Jaguars slipped to 4-5.

Brittany Gray scored both of the Panthers goals. Gray has 14 goals on the season and is leading the USA South in both goals and points (30).

Gray's first goal came in the 18th minute. Andrea Richard sent a crossing pass from the left side and Gray shot it past goalkeeper Taylor Bolden from 10 yards out.

Four minutes later, Gray struck again for the Panthers. She blasted a shot in from 30 yards out after taking a pass from Sydney Dorsey to make it 2-0.

The Panthers outshot Spelman 18-6 and limited the Jaguars to only two shots on goal. Chelsea Totaro had two saves in goal to record her sixth shutout and team's seventh of the season.

The Panthers host Ferrum in a USA South game Saturday. Kickoff is 9 a.m.
