Women's Soccer: Panthers down William Peace for first USA South win

RALEIGH, N.C. - Brittany Gray scored two goals and assisted on another to lead LaGrange past William Peace 6-0 on Sunday. The Panthers (7-3, 1-2) got their first USA South win in beating the Pacers (1-8, 0-3 USA South).

Gray scored the first two goals of the game, the second on an assist from Jessie Edwards as the Panthers took the 2-0 lead into halftime. Gray leads the team with 12 goals.

The Panthers pulled away in the second half. Elise Hopson and Jade Cotton each got their second goals of the season to up the Panthers' lead to 4-0. Tara Harrison got the assist on Hopson's goal.

Sydney Dorsey got her 11th goal of the season off an assist from Gray. Taylor Baldwin closed out the scoring with her first goal of the season.

The Panthers had 21 shots in the game, 16 on goal. Goalkeeper Chelsea Totaro had seven saves to record her fifth shutout of the season.

The Panthers host Averett on Saturday and Greensboro on Sunday in USA South games.
