Women's Soccer: Agnes Scott hands Panthers first loss

Agnes Scott handed LaGrange its first loss of the season, edging the Panthers 2-1 at Panther Field on Saturday. The Panthers dropped to 3-1, while the Scotties evened their record at 2-2.

The Panthers had their shutout streak end at three. The Scotties scored on a penalty kick by Anna Hernandez less than three minutes into the game, then Helene Somda scored in the first two minutes of the second half for a 2-0 lead.

The game was delayed 50 minutes by a power outage coming with 27 minutes left on the clock. The Panthers avoided the shutout when Sydney Dorsey scored on a header off a pass from Kari Sybrandt with only 12 seconds left. It was Dorsey's sixth goal of the week in three games.

The Panthers out shot the Scotties 11-6. The Scotties had a 4-3 edge in shots on goal.

The Panthers play at Oakwood on Tuesday, then host Oglethorpe on Thursday.
