Women's Soccer: Panthers break out in second half to down Huntingdon

LaGrange did all of its scoring in the second half to blank Huntingdon 3-0 on Tuesday at Panther Field. The Panthers improved to 2-0 as the Hawks lost their season opener.

LaGrange controlled the game, holding Huntingdon to three shots total and only one on goal. After having only one shot in the first half, the Panther out shot the Hawks 12-2 in the second half.

The Panthers broke through in the 77th minute. Mendi Kallam's blast from 25 yards out was knocked down by goalkeeper Jenny Burnash. Sydney Dorsey cleaned up in front of the net, getting the rebound past Burnash for a 1-0 lead.

The goal started a scoring spree of three goals in eight minutes by the Panthers. Four minutes after her first goal, Dorsey scored off a pass from Brittany Gray to make it 2-0. Gray closed out the scoring with a shot from 20 yards for her first goal of the season for the 3-0 final.

Chelsea Totaro had to make only one save for her second shutout of the season. Totaro has four shutouts in her last five starts dating back to last season.

The Panthers play at Wesleyan on Thursday.
