Women's Soccer: Panthers, Agnes Scott play to 1-1 tie in GSAC match

DECATUR, Ga.- LaGrange and Agnes Scott played to a 1-1 tie at Gellerstedt Field on Saturday. It was the GSAC opener for both teams.

The Panthers got a goal from Shelby Stanfield in the 84th minute to tie the game in regulation. Neither team could score in the two overtime periods.

Agnes Scott put pressure on the Panthers early in the match. Goalkeeper Chelsea Totaro made three saves in the first 17 minutes before Clara Kienzle beat her to give the Scotties a 1-0 lead.

The lead held until the second half. Stanfield scored off a through ball from Taylor Baldwin against goalkeeper Ashley Watts to make it 1-1.

In the first overtime period, the Panthers had the only shot on goal. Watts turned away Trayton Carson-Tanner's shot in the second minute of the overtime.

In the final overtime period, Totaro stopped Helene Somda's header just 16 seconds into the period. Brittany Gray's shot was stopped by Watts with less than two minutes remaining as the match ended in a tie.
