Women's Soccer: Panthers travel to Toccoa Falls to open 2011 season

The LaGrange College women's soccer team will travel to Toccoa Falls on Thursday to open the 2011 season. The match begins at 7 p.m.

This marks the third straight season the Panthers have opened with Toccoa Falls. The two teams have swapped 4-1 home wins the past two seasons. The Panthers lead the overall series 4-3 after last year's win.

Toccoa Falls is 2-0 on the young season. The Eagles blanked Tennessee Temple and Johnson by scores of 1-0 and 5-0.

The Panthers were 6-14 overall last season, including a 3-3 GSAC record. Jim Robins is beginning his third season as the Panthers' head coach. Robins was the GSAC Coach of the Year in 2010.

The Panthers return sophomore forward Brittany Gray, who earned GSAC All-Conference and All-Freshman honors. Gray led the team in scoring with seven goals. Sophomore goalkeeper Chelsea Totaro was the team's Most Valuable Player and named to the GSAC All-Freshman team.
