GSAC awards five Panthers, Robbins named Coach of the Year

The Great South Athletic Conference handed out its 2010 women's soccer awards. LaGrange College had five players receive awards and head coach Jim Robbins was selected as the GSAC Coach of the Year.

Senior Shelley Cathcart and freshman Brittany Gray were selected for the GSAC All-Conference team. Gray and Chelsea Totaro were selected for the GSAC All-Freshman team. Cathcart, Angie Forero and Stephanie Fowler earned GSAC All-Academic honors.

Robbins led the Panthers to a 6-14 record and fifth-place finish in the GSAC. The Panthers finished the season 5-4 after a 1-10 start.

Gray, forward, led the Panthers in scoring. She had seven goals and six assists, finishing with 20 points. Cathcart, a defender, earned her second all-conference and all-academic awards. She was a four-year starter for the Panthers. Totaro, a goalkeeper, had a 2.77 goals against average and recorded 106 saves. She also scored a goal. Fowler earned her second straight all-academic honor.
