Gray leads Panthers past Warren Wilson in OT

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – LaGrange College won its third straight game, edging Warren Wilson 3-2 in overtime on Friday. The Panthers upped their record to 4-10.

Freshman Brittany Gray scored all three goals for the Panthers. Gray has scored five goals in the last three games. She is tied for the team lead with Shelby Stanfield with six goals and leads the team with 17 points.

Gray scored two minutes into the game on an assist from Jennifer Eby for a 1-0 lead. She gave the Panthers a 2-0 lead in the 66th minute with an unassisted goal.

The Owls came back to tie the game and send it into overtime. Kelsey Chandler scored on a penalty kick and Rebecca Towne tied the game with less than three minutes left in regulation.

Gray ended the game with her third goal of the game 13 minutes into overtime. Gray had six of the Panthers 10 shots on goal in the game.

Freshman Kristin Bird got her first win of the year in goal for the Panthers. Bird had eight saves in the game.

The Panthers travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. to take on Salem in a GSAC game Saturday.
