Panthers edge GSAC rival Huntingdon 2-1

LaGrange College made a first half goal stand up in beating Huntingdon 1-0 at Panther Field on Wednesday. The win upped the Panthers' GSAC record to 2-1 and overall to 3-10.

The win avenged a 2-1 loss to the Lady Hawks (3-8-1, 0-5 GSAC) on Sept. 22. It was the second straight win for the Panthers after losing 10 straight.

Brittany Gray scored unassisted in the 25th minute of the first half. She took control of the ball off a turnover a sent a shot into the far post from the left side past goalkeeper Jenny Burnash.

Panther goalkeeper Chelsea Totaro made four saves to record her second straight shutout. Totaro made three of the saves in the first half. She stopped the Lady Hawks' Crystal Flores on a breakaway by coming out of the goal and taking the ball away at the top of the box.

The Panthers enjoyed an 11-5 shot advantage in the game. The Lady Hawks had only a single shot in the second half.

The Panthers play at Warren Wilson on Friday and at Salem on Saturday in a GSAC game.
