Lacrosse: Piedmont pulls away to beat Panthers in USA South game

Piedmont pulled away for a 17-6 win over LaGrange in a USA South game Thursday. The Panthers are now 3-7 overall and 0-5 in conference play.

Madeline LaCavera led LC with three goals scored. Eva Tallent, Rachael Thomas, and Davida Thomas all had a goal.

Piedmont (9-5, 4-1 USA South) led 9-2 at halftime. The Panthers played the Lady Lions on even terms for most of the second half. LaCavera's third goal of the game drew the Panthers with six, 12-6, with under 10 minutes remaining. But the Lady Lions got the final five goals of the game down the stretch to pull away.

The Panthers play at Huntingdon on Saturday in a USA South game.
