Lacrosse: Nationally-ranked Reinhardt pulls away in second half to down Panthers

WALESKA, Ga. - Nationally-ranked Reinhardt pulled away in the second half to down LaGrange 20-9 on Sunday.

The Panthers are now 1-2 on the season. The host Eagles, ranked sixth in the National Women's Lacrosse League preseason poll, upped their record to 2-0.

Cheyenne St. Germain tied with Reinhardt's Stephanie Grove and Mary Kate Minick for game honors with four goals. Alexis Dillard had two goals, while Ashley Davis, Sydney Garmany and Madeline LaCavera each had a goal.

Kallie Brooks had 13 saves in goal for the Panthers. 

The Panthers played the Eagles on almost even terms in the first half, trailing 8-5 at the break. Trailing 7-2, the Panthers got back in the game on two goals from St. Germain, sandwiched around one from Dillard.

In the second half, LaCavera's goal got the Panthers within two, 8-6. But the Eagles scored the next 10 goals to take control of the game.

The Panthers host Birmingham-Southern on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
