Lacrosse: Dillard's record game propels Panthers past Agnes Scott 19-14

Sophomore Alexis Dillard's record-setting game sparked LaGrange past Agnes Scott 19-14 at Panther Field on Saturday. The Panthers stopped a five-game skid in raising their season record to 4-10 and finishing 2-6 in the USA South.

Dillard set a new school mark with eight goals. She scored all of the goals in the second half as the Panthers wiped out a 9-8 halftime deficit.

Kelsey Griffin, who scored five goals, and Ashley Davis scored in the opening 36 seconds of the game to put the Panthers up 2-0.

Agnes Scott (0-9, 0-8 USA South) responded with five straight goals to take a 5-2 lead. The Panthers came back with five straight goals of their own to lead 7-5. 

The Scotties made another run with four straight goals to go back up 9-7. Griffin scored off a free position shot with a second remaining in the half to make it 9-8.

Dillard scored three of the Panthers' six straight goals to open the second half and take a commanding 14-9 lead.

She finished her record day by scoring the Panthers' final four goals of the game. The last one came with six seconds left in the game to set the new record, breaking the old held by Crystal Colvin and Griffin.

The Panthers close out the season April 8 at Berry.
