ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - LaGrange bounced back from Friday's loss at Christopher Newport with a 15-7 win at North Carolina Wesleyan on Saturday. The win upped the Panthers' USA South record to 3-4 and their overall record to 6-7.
The Panthers had seven different players score in the game. Kelsey Griffin led the way with four goals and two assists. Ashley Davis had three goals and an assist. Paige Castle, Olivia Durand and Sophia Monroe each had two goals, while sisters Alexis and Tiffany Dillard each had a goal.
The Bishops (0-11, 0-7 USA South) got three goals from Ashley Marks in the first nine minutes to take a 3-1 lead. The Panthers scored six of the next seven goals to lead 7-4 at halftime. Griffin's second goal of the half gave the Panthers a 5-4 lead and they never trailed again.
In the second half, after the Bishops opened the second half scoring, the Panthers took control of the game. The Panthers scored seven unaswered goals to build a 14-5 lead.
The Panthers host Piedmont on Wednesday in their final USA South game of the season.
