Lacrosse: Majors slip by Panthers in evening match-up

LaGrange fell to visiting Millsaps 8-4 on Friday evening at Panther field. Junior Kelsey Griffin once again was the team's offensive leader, while junior goalkeeper Chelsea Totaro led the defense.

LaGrange was up 4-3 at the end of the first half, but was unable to seal the win. Griffin led the offensive charge with three goals and one assist. Knocking in the other goal was sophomore Olivia Monroe, while senior Tiffany Dillard collected two draw controls and a game-high seven groundballs to gain key possessions for the Panthers.

Defensively, Totaro collected eight saves and a game-high six caused turnovers between the pipes. Also contributing for LaGrange on the defensive end was senior Paige Castle with six groundballs and four caused turnovers.

The Panthers return to action on Monday at home against Transylvania beginning at 2 p.m..
