Lacrosse:  Huntingdon turns back Panthers' comeback

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Huntingdon turned back LaGrange's second half comeback for a 13-10 win over the Panthers on Tuesday. The loss left the Panthers 1-2 on the season.

Alexis Dillard and Kelsey Griffin each scored three goals for the Panthers. Griffin also had a game-best nine draw controls.

Huntingdon scored the game's first five goals. Dillard got the Panthers on the board with her first goal of the game. Griffin got all three of her goals in the first half as the Hawks led 8-4 at the break.

The Hawks led 11-5 with 21 minutes left in the game. The Panthers answered by scoring five of the next six goals to get back in the game.

Olivia Monroe started the rally with her second goal of the half. Alexis Dillard scored two of the next three goals for the Panthers with sister Tiffany getting a goal of her own in between.

Audrey Fortman cut Huntingdon's lead to two, 12-10 with seven minutes remaining. The Hawks added an insurance goal for the 13-10 final.

Paige Castle had seven ground balls to lead the Panthers. Goalkeeper Chelsea Totaro had 12 saves.

The Panthers host Aurora (Ill.) on March 5 at 4 p.m.
