Lacrosse: Panthers end season with losses to Christopher Newport, Shenandoah

The LaGrange lacrosse team finished its 2012 season with losses at Christopher Newport and Shenandoah on Friday and Saturday. The Panthers (3-9, 2-5 USA South) lost to the six-time conference champion Captains 23-1 before ending the season with a 21-0 loss to the Hornets.

Despite the losses, the Panthers set new team records for the 2012 season. The three wins under first year coach Adrienne Berkland were the most for the third year program. The Panthers finished sixth in the USA South final standings, their best finish yet.

Sophomore Kelsey Griffin set a school record for goals in a season with 36. She finished seventh in the conference in goals scored.

Sophomore goalkeeper Chelsea Totaro set a single-season record of 145 saves. She missed the final two games because of a Spring Break trip to Spain with the women's soccer team. Totaro led the USA South in saves and was among the conference leaders in save percentage, goals against and goals against average.
