The LaGrange lacrosse team fell to visiting Birmingham-Southern, 19-6, at Panther Field on Wednesday afternoon. First-year player Audrey Fortmann recorded her first career goal in the loss.
With LaGrange down by just three goals, 7-4, at the start of the second half, they ran out of steam as BSC pulled away to claim the victory.
Scoring for the Panthers in the first half were Olivia Monroe and Kelsey Griffin, who each had a goal, while Sophia Durand netted two. Durand scored her second goal right as the horn blew at the end of the half.
Griffin recorded another goal in the second half at the 9:47 minute mark, while Fortman recorded her goal, assisted by Ashley Davis, with 8:21 left to play.
Defensively for LaGrange, goalkeeper Chelsea Totaro recorded a game-high 14 saves, along with five caused turnovers. Griffin collected four groundballs and caused two turnovers, while Paige Castle recorded two of each, respectfully.
The Panthers return to action on Saturday, March 24, at 3 p.m., as they host Reinhart University in a non-conference contest.
