Lacrosse: Panthers down Hollins for second victory of season

The LaGrange lacrosse team earned its second win of the season on Friday night against visiting Hollins 12-5. The seven-goal win margin marks the widest margin of victory for the Panthers in their short three-year history.

Leading the scorers for the Panthers once again was Kelsey Griffin, with a game-high five goals, while adding one assist. Griffin currently ranks fifth in the USA Conference with 25 goals scored this season.

Sophia Durand continued her three-game scoring streak by adding three goals, while Ashley Davis and Tiffany Dillard each contributed two.

The Panther defense was led by Dillard, who recorded seven ground balls and six caused turnovers. Sydney Dorsey also added to the defensive efforts with five ground balls and seven caused turnovers.

Goalkeeper Chelsea Totaro picked up her second win of the season, collecting 11 saves.

The win marks the second time this season that the Panthers have scored in double-digit figures, and marks the third time in the history of program.

The Panthers will return to action on March 21, at 4 p.m., hosting Birmingham-Southern.
