DECATUR, Ga. - LaGrange ended its 2011 season with a 14-7 loss to Agnes Scott in a USA South game at Gellerstedt Field on Tuesday. The Panthers finished 1-10 overall and 1-5 in the USA South. The host Scotties ended their season 3-13 overall and 2-5 in conference.
The Panthers had a season-high five different players score goals. Paige Castle and Kelsey Griffin each had two goals. Griffin also added an assist. She finished the season with a team record 26 goals and 28 points. Crystal Colvin, Tiffany Dillard and Kindell Parmer each had a goal.
Agnes Scott out shot the Panthers 49-24 in the game. Goalkeeper Chelsea Totaro had 22 saves in the game, her second highest total of the season. Totaro had a team record 168 saves during the season.
The Scotties led 5-1 eight minutes into the first half. The Panthers cut the deficit to one, 5-4, with goals by Dillard, Griffin and Castle over a four-minute span.
Agnes Scott scored the final three goals of the first half and the first three of the second half to open up a 11-4 lead. Parmer scored her goal to make it 11-5. Castle and Colvin closed out the scoring with goals in the final minute.
