Women's Lacrosse: Ferrum downs Panthers 19-3 in USA South game

Ferrym used a balanced scoring attack to down LaGrange 19-3 at Panther Field on Saturday in a USA South game. The loss dropped the Panthers to 1-7 overall and 1-4 in the USA South. The visiting Panthers improved to 7-3-1 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

Cara Jacobs led Ferrum with four goals, while Courtney Hamm added three more. The visiting Panthers had four players with two goals each and nine overall score in the game. Brooke Hewartson had six assists in the game.

Kelsey Griffin scored two of LaGrange's three goals and assisted on the third. She has a team-high 21 goals. Kristin Bird scored the Panthers' other goal, her first of the year.

Ferrum led 12-1 at halftime. The visiting Panthers had a 33-8 shot advantage in the game. Chelsea Totaro had nine saves in goal for LaGrange.

The Panthers host Greensboro on Sunday at 1 p.m. in a USA South game.
