Missouri Baptist used a big first half and went on to a 21-5 win over LaGrange on Tuesday at Panther Field. The Panthers fell to 1-4, while the Spartans improved to 5-3.
Kelsey Griffin scored all five goals for the Panthers. She leads the team in scoring with 16 goals. Amanda Sullivan and Danielle Pfyl each had five goals for the Spartans.
The Panthers trailed 4-2 after Griffin's second goal. But the Spartans ran off 12 straight unanswered goals to lead 16-2 at halftime. Griffin scored the first two goals of the second half and finished the scoring in the final minute.
The Panthers play at Tennessee Wesleyan on Sunday at 4 p.m.
