Women's Basketball: Williams receives school's Eagle Award

Senior point guard Elizabeth Williams received the school's Eagle Award and Dr. Waights G. Henry Academic Award in ceremonies Tuesday on campus in the Dickson Assembly Room at the Turner Student Center.

The Eagle Award is presented annually to the student-athlete who has overcome adversity and excelled as a student, as a athlete and in the community. The Dr. Waights G. Henry Academic Award, named for the former LaGrange College president, is given to the female scholar-athlete with the highest overall grade point average.

Wiillams, who has a 3.83 GPA, earned GSAC All-Academic honors three times during her career. She was a GSAC All-Conference selection and the GSAC Freshman of the Year. Williams will graduate with a degree in Mathematics and has accepted a full-scholarship and teaching assistant position in the fall to enter Georgia Tech's doctorate program in quantitative psychology.
