Women's Basketball: Panthers stop Berry 84-65
ROME, Ga. - LaGrange College got balanced scoring to stop Berry College 84-65 at the Cage Center on Saturday. The Panthers are now 16-7 on the season, while Berry slipped to 7-12.
Heather Miller was the only Panther starter in double figures with a team-high 14 points. She also led the team with eight rebounds. Katie Covington, the team's leading scorer was held to a season-low eight points.
The Panthers got 49 points from their bench in the win. Alex Wilson had 13 points, Madison McDonald 12 and Anjelica Wilcox 10.
The Panthers trailed only once in the game. Leading 15-11, the Panthers went on a 20-4 run to break the game open. They led by as many as 21 points in the first half and led 47-34 at the break.
In the first half, the Panthers shot 48.1 percent from the floor. They were 7-for-10 shooting 3s in the half. McDonald had all 12 of her points in the first half. She was 3-for-3 from the floor, including both 3-point attempts, and 4-for-4 at the free throw line.
The Panthers play at Huntingdon on Wednesday before closing out the regular season at home against Maryville on Saturday. Both games are GSAC contests.
