Junior Katie Covington is the Great South Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 15. Covington led the Panthers to GSAC wins over nationally-ranked and unbeaten Piedmont and on the road at Covenant.

For the week, Covington averaged 28.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in the two wins. She shot 66.7 percent from the floor (16-of-24) and 92.3 percent from the line (24-of-26). She had a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds in the win over Piedmont. Against Covenant, Covington scored a season-high 33 points, including her 1,000th career point, becoming the second Panther to reach the milestone.

Covington leads the GSAC in scoring, averaging 17.7 points per game. She is fourth in the conference in rebounding, averaging 7.7 rebounds per game.
