Wilson named GSAC Player of the Week

LaGrange College freshman wing Alex Wilson was selected as the Great South Athletic Conference Player of the Week for women's basketball for the week ending Feb. 6.

Wilson averaged 18.8 points per game in four games for the Panthers last week. She shot 52.4 percent from 3-point range, making 22-of-42 attempts. Wilson scored a season-high 33 points at Salem, tying for the second most points in a game in the program's history.

In the game, Wilson set single-game school records for 3-point field goals made (11) and attempted (18). She also has broken the single-season school record for 3-point field goals made. Wilson has 56 for the season, breaking the old mark of 55 set last season.
