Swimming: Panther teams host Panther Invitational against South Georgia State and Thomas University

The LaGrange swim teams hosted the Panther Invitational on Saturday in the Charles Hudson Natatorium.

The teams went up against South Georgia State and Thomas University. The Panther men came in second to South Georgia State.

Senior Mitchell Cross and freshman Tim Garnett finished 1-2 in the 100-yard butterfly. Cross won the event in a time of 55.16 seconds.

Cross picked up another win in the 100 breastroke in a time of 1:03.56. Sophomore Ben Ashby was third in the event. 

Cross was also second in the 50 freestyle. Cross, Ashby, Garnett and Brennen Wilkes were second in the 400 medley relay.

Alex Bromby led the women with a fourth place finish in the 50 freestyle in a time of 29.69 seconds. The freshman was also fifth in the 100 breaststroke.

The swim teams will compete in the Breanu Invitational next Friday and Saturday in Gainesville, Ga.
