Swimming: Cross, Flowers set new school records at season ending Regional Meet

The LaGrange swim teams traveled to Albany, Ga. for the season ending Regional Meet against host Darton State and South Georgia.

Sophomore Mitchell Cross set new school records in setting personal best times in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events. Cross had a winning time of 1:00.26 in the 100 and placed second in the 200 with a time of 2:12.90.

Christopher Flowers set a new team record in the 1,650 freestyle with a season's best time of 20:29.59.

Seniors Madison Brasselle and Mary Robertson finished their LaGrange College careers.

Brasselle had season best times in three of her four events; the 100 backstroke, the 500 and the 1,650 freestyle. Robertson had her personal best times in the 50 backstroke, the 100 butterfly and 400 individual medley.

Freshman Jessica Morton had personal bests in all four of her events: the 100 and 200 backstroke, the 100 butterfly and the 200 individual medley. Morton was the team's high point winner.

Another freshman, Kyra Odum had a personal best time in the 100 breaststroke.

The women placed third in the 400 freestyle relay and fourth in the 200 individual medley relay.

Senior Blake Shuler, in his final meet, took 10 seconds off his previous best time in the 200 backstroke, finishing in a time of 2:24.83.

Sophomore Ben Fuller had a personal best time in the 200 freestyle. Fuller set season best times in the 100 and 200 butterfly events.

Three freshmen; John Lynch, Bill Singleton and Stephan Suedmeyer all set personal bests. Lynch set his in the 50 and 100 freestyle events. Singleton had personal bests in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke. Suedmeyer set new personal marks in the 50 and 100 freestyle events.

The men's relay team of Cross, Fuller, Shuler and Suedmeyer placed fifth in both  the 200 individual medley and 400 freestyle relay events.
