Swimming: Singleton, Suedmeyer set personal bests at Viking Classic

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The LaGrange swim teams competed at the Viking Classic hosted by Berry College on Friday and Saturday.

Seniors Madison Brasselle and Mary Hannah Robertson tied for the team's high point winner for the women; while sophomore Mitchell Cross was the high point winner for the men.

Brasselle earned 10 points with eighth place finishes in the 200 and 1,650-yard freestyle events. Roberston earned nine of her 10 points by finishing sixth in the 400 indivdual medley finals.

Cross had sixth place finishes in the 100 butterfly and 200 breaststroke events. He was seventh in the 50 freestyle.

Freshmen Bill Singleton and Stephen Suedmeyer set personal bests in three events each. Singleton set new personal times in the 50 freestyle and the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. Suedmeyer set his in the 100 backstroke and the 50 and 100 freestyle events.

The Panthers travel to Pensacola, Fla. on Saturday, Feb. 1 to face West Florida.
