Swimming: Panthers host own invitational at Hudson Natatorium

The LaGrange swim teams hosted the Panther Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Charles Hudson Natatorium. Teams from Birmingham-Southern, Brenau, Emmanuel, South Georgia, Thomas and West Florida joined the Panthers in the meets.

Sophomores Mitchell Cross and Ben Fuller led the men on Saturday. Cross had two second place finishes and a third place in three events. Fuller also had a pair of seconds and added a fifth place finish.

Cross was second in the 100-yard breaststroke and 100 butterfly events. He placed third in the 50 freestyle event.

Fuller came in second in the 1,000 freestyle and 200 butterfly finals. He finished fifth in the 100 butterfly.

The team of Cross, Fuller, Blake Shuler and Stephen Suedmeyer was second in the 200 freestyle relay. Suedmeyer was fourth in the 100 backstroke, while Chris Flowers came in fourth in the 1,000 freestyle.

For the women on Saturday, Madison Brasselle was third in the 500 freestyle and fourth in the 1,000 freestyle. Jemma Cropanese was fourth in the 100 freestyle and Mary Robertson also had a fourth place finish in the 50 freestyle.

On Friday, Cross had second place finishes in the both the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke events. The women's team of Brasselle, Cropanese, Robertson and Trinity Bosarge was fifth in the 200 freestyle relay event.

The Panther teams are at Berry on Saturday for a dual meet.
