Swimming: James awarded College's Eagle Award

Senior Devin James received the Eagle Award given by the LaGrange College Athletic Department in a ceremony Wednesday in the Dickson Assembly Room.

The annual award is given to the student-athlete who has overcome adversity and excelled as a student, as a athlete and in the community.

Devin has been a member of the swim team for four years, serving as captain his senior year.  He earned Appalachian Swimming Conference All-Academic honors for four years with a GPA of 3.5 or above. He was a two-sport athlete in swimming and cross country for three years.

Devin has overcome major obstacles the past two years but led the team with his presence and determination. During his time at LaGrange College, Devin has been active in campus life as a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He started the LaGrange College Triathlon Club and has been an RA at Boatwright Hall for two years and a Hilltopper for three. He was a Teaching Assistant for Dr. William Paschal for two years in Anatomy and Physiology. Devin has worked on and off campus all four years and is currently the head lifeguard and supervisor at the Charles Hudson Natatorium.
