Swimming: Panther teams swim at Mars Hill and Warren Wilson

The LaGrange swim teams swam against Mars Hill on Friday then competed with three other schools at Warren Wilson on Saturday.

Freshman Mitchell Cross had three first place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke and the 50 and 100 butterfly events in the meet at Warren Wilson. At Mars Hill, Cross had second place finishes in the 100 breaststroke, 100 butterfly and 200 individual medley.

Fellow freshman Ben Fuller also finished first at Warren Wilson in his three events: 100-yard butterfly, 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle. He was first at Mars Hill in the 200 butterfly, along with a second in the 1,000 freestyle and third in the 500 freestyle.

Senior Blake Shuler set a new personal best in finishing second in the 50-yard backstroke and was also second in the 100 backstroke at Warren Wilson.

Madison Brasselle was second in the 200-yard and 500 freestyle events at Warren Wilson. She had a third place finish against Mars Hill in the 1,000 freestyle.

Leslie Rhoades was third in the 50-yard freestyle and 100 butterfly events at Mars Hill. Christina Sabol also had two third place finishes at Mars Hill in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.

Evan Brasselle set new personal best times at Mars Hill and Warren Wilson in the 100-yard backstroke, 200 backstroke and 200 freestyle. Mary Robertson also had a person best in the 200 individual medley at Mars Hill. Hannah Sharp set new personal best times in the 50 and 200 freestyle at Warren Wilson.

The women's 200-yard medley relay team of Rhoades, Sabol, Becky Robertson and Madison Brasselle was third at Warren Wilson. The 400 freestyle relay team of Rhoades, Robertson, Sharp and Evan Brasselle finished third at Mars Hill.

The men's 200 medley relay team of Cross, Fuller, Shuler and David Teske finished second at Warren Wilson. The 400 freestyle team of Cross Fuller, Shuler and Joe Strickland was fourth at Mars Hill.
