Swimming: Sharp, Fuller lead Panthers at Brenau Invitational

The LaGrange swim teams competed in the Brenau Invitational in Gainesville, Ga. on Nov. 16-17.

Freshmen Hannah Sharp and Ben Fuller were the Swimmers of the Meet for the team. Sharp set personal bests in all three of her events: 50-yard freestlye, 100 breaststroke and 500 freestyle. Fuller set personal bests in four events, setting a team record in one: 100 butterfly, 200 butterfly (new team record), 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle.

Catie Cobb set a new women's record in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:26:06. Teammate Chandler Norris also broke the old record in the event but was out-touched by Cobb in the event.

Haley Dent took eight seconds off her best time in the 200-yard breaststroke and also had a personal best in the 200 freestyle. Mitchell Cross set personal best times while finishing fifth and seventh in the 50 and 100 freestyle events.

Evan Brasselle set personal bests in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events. Others setting personal bests were: Ali Bolnick (100 freestyle); Blake Shuler (50 backstroke leg of 200 medley relay); Krysta Tatara (50 freestyle) and David Teske (100 freestyle).

The team swims at the University of the South on Saturday, Dec. 1.
