The LaGrange College swim team hosted the Panther Invitational at the Hudson Natatorium on Saturday. Berry, Birmingham-Southern and South Georgia joined the Panthers for the meet.
Senior Becky Robertson and freshman Will Scruggs were the Panthers' swimmers of the meet. Robertson set personal best times in the 50-yard freestyle and 100 breaststroke. She was also on the 400 freestyle and 200 medley relay teams which finished third and fifth respectively.
Scruggs set personal best times in the 50, 100 and 200-yard freestyle events. He was also on the 200 medley, the 200 and 400 freestyle events.
Freshmen Mitchell Cross and Ben Fuller broke their own team records in three events. Cross had record times of 54.55 in the 100-yard butterfly and 1:03.88 in the 100 breaststroke, finishing second in both events. He also set a per
Fuller took 11 seconds off his previous record in the 1,000-yard freestyle. He finished third in the event in a time of 10:49.91. Fuller was also sixth in the 500 freestyle.
The Panthers also had six swimmers set personal best times in various events. Chandler Norris dropped 20 seconds off her personal best in the 1,000-yard freestyle, finishing fifth in a time of 12:50.95. She was third in the 100 backstroke and fourth in the 200 individual medley.
Evan Brasselle set new personal best times in the 100-yard breaststroke and the 50 and 100 freestyle events. Hannah Sharp had her best times in the 100 freestyle and breaststroke events after swimming in the 500 and 1,000 freestyle events.
The swim team will be competing the Brenau Invitational in Gainesville, Ga. on Nov. 16-17.
