Swimming: Fuller sets two team records at South Georgia meet

The LaGrange swim teams competed against Darton College, Thomas University and host South Georgia College in Douglas on Saturday.

Freshman Ben Fuller set two new team records. He had a time of 11:00.16 in finishing third in the 1,000-yard freestyle, beating the old team record by two minutes. Fuller also had a record time of 2:13.65 in the 200 butterfly.

Freshman Mitchell Cross was the high point winner for the Panther men. Cross had a second place finish in the 100 butterfly to go with third place finishes as a member in the men's 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay events.

Will Scruggs set personal bests in the 50 and 100 freestyle events.

For the women, Catie Cobb was the high point winner for the Panther women. Cobb was third in the 100 butterfly, fifth in the 50 freestyle and sixth in the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke events.

The women had two swimmers set personal bests in two events each. Evan Brasselle set personal bests in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly events, while Krysta Tatara swam personal bests in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke.

The Panthers host the Panther Invitational at the Charles Hudson Natatorium on Saturday. It will be Senior Day for Haley Dent, Angie Forero, Devin James, Becky Robertson, Christina Sabol and Joe Strickland.
