Swimming: Panther teams compete in first ever relay only meet

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The LaGrange swim teams competed in their first ever relay only meet. The Panthers went up against relay teams from Birmingham-Southern, Berry, Bethel and Sewanee.

The Panthers had five relay teams finish fourth in their events: 400-yard mixed medley; 300 women's backstroke; 500 women's crescendo; 300 women's individual medley and 100 men's freestyle.

The Panthers had one swimmer set a personal best and two swimmers set unofficial best times in helping their teams in those events. An official best time can only be counted if the swimmer is swimming the first leg of the relay. Chandler Norris set a best time in the 500 women's cresceno. Ben Fuller (400-yard mixed medley) and Madison Brasselle (300 women's backstroke) set unofficial best times in their events.

The Panthers had four teams finish fifth in their events: 500 men's crescendo; 300 breaststroke, 400 mixed free and 200 women's medley.

Mitchell Cross set an official best time in the 500 crescendo relay as did Catie Cobb in the 300 women's breaststroke and Fuller in the 400 mixed free. All three swimmers also set unofficial best times during these events. Hannah Sharp and Evan Brasselle had unofficial best times competing the 300 women's breaststroke and 400 mixed free events.

The teams swim at South Georgia on Nov. 3.
