Swim teams host own Panther Invitational meet

The LaGrange College swim teams hosted the first Panther Invitational at the Troup County Park & Recreation Swim Center on Saturday.

Darton College swept the meet defeating Berry in the women's meet and South Georgia in the men's meet. The LaGrange women finished fifth in the six-team field, while the men finished fourth in the five-team field.

The men were led by Josh Ledbetter and Devin James. Ledbetter finished with 24 points. He had eighth place finishes in both the 100 and 200-yard freestyle events.  Devin James followed with 23 points. James had a fifth-place finish in the 1,500-yard freestyle.

Christina Sabol led the women with 33 points. Sabol had fifth place finish in the 100 breaststroke and seventh in the 200 breaststroke. Haley Dent followed Sabol with 21 points. She scored points in all four of her events.

Leslie Rhoades, who just after volleyball season scored 17 points and swam personal bests in all three of her events.

The Panther teams will compete in the Savannah College of Art & Design meet in Savannah on Dec. 2-4.
